Lauretta P. (Hoyer) Snyder

Lauretta P. (Hoyer) Snyder, 84, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022 in the Laurel Center in Hamburg.

Born on June 9, 1938 in her childhood home in Womelsdorf, she was a daughter of the late Edward J. and Laura M. (Wayne) Hoyer. Lauretta was the wife of the late Carroll “Bud” Snyder with whom she spent 58 years of marriage with at his time of passing on July 10, 2021.

Lauretta attended Penn Bernville school and later worked for Ship N Shore for a number of years before her retirement.

Lauretta loved to bake cookies and cakes. She always was willing to help her Aunt, Edna Hollenbach, with baking, who owned Conrad Weiser Inn in Womelsdorf. She loved her family and treated her siblings like her own children. She was a member of St. Thomas Church in Bernville.

Lauretta is survived by her sister, Gloria Gassert, wife of Harold of Bernville and sister-in-law, Joan Mengel and Jackie Hoyer and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lauretta is predeceased by her siblings, Shirley Luckenbill, wife of the late Robert Luckenbill, Wayne Hoyer, wife of Jackie Hoyer, Melvin Hoyer, and brother-in-law, Lester Mengel.

A graveside service will be held Monday, December 12,2022 at 11:00 am at St. Thomas Cemetery in Bernville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Lauretta’s name may be made to St. Thomas Church, Bernville.
