LeRoy C. Biehl

LeRoy C. Biehl, 83, of Temple passed away Thursday, March 31st in his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was married to the late Jean A. (Frick) Biehl.
Born in Temple, he was the son of the late Leon Biehl and Mary (Bensinger) Biehl.
He was a graduate in 1951 from Muhlenberg High School. He we employed for thirty five years for Western Electric-Lucent, retiring in 1994.
He was a member of Salem Shalters Lutheran Church.
LeRoy was a charter member of the Irish Mountain Wolverines in Temple. Also, a member of the Temple Cadet Junior Drum Corp.
He was very active in community service in the Temple area.
LeRoy started as a fireman at the Temple Fire Co., he rose to the rank of assistant fire chief from 1961 until 1974, and chief from 1977 until August 1978. He was a active member from 1950 until 1987.
He was a trustee of the Berks Co. Fireman's Assoc. and the Berks Co. Fire Chief's Assoc.
He was a member of Temple Borough Council where he served nine years as president and was the mayor of Temple for four years.
He served on the Temple Recreation Board.
He loved to spend time on his patio, especially with Pickles.
Surviving are two children, Kraig R. Biehl and wife Janet of Reading and Janelle M., wife of Kenneth Bechtel of Temple.
There are seven grandchildren, Erin Stroup, wife of James, Heather Stoeber, wife of Charles, Jr., Lauren and Kameron Biehl, Jennifer Schaffer, wife of Rod, Elizabeth Stocking, wife of T.J., and Stephanie Wagner, wife of Ryan.
There are thirteen great grandchildren.
Also, three siblings, Richard Biehl, widower of Lois of Wyomissing, Russell Biehl and wife Joan of Reading, and Mildred Zuckowski, widow of Wally of Reading.
He is predeceased by a brother, Sidney Biehl.
A viewing will be held on Monday evening from 6 until 8 pm in the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple.
A viewing will also be held on Tuesday morning from 10 until 11 am in the Milkins Giles Funeral Home.,Inc., Temple.
On Tuesday at 11:15 am a fireman's procession will depart the funeral home and proceed to Salem Shalters Lutheran Church, 2032 Mt. Laurel Rd., Fleetwood, PA Alsace Twp. where a funeral service will be held at Noon in the church.
Pastor Lesley Hand will officiate the service.
Interment will follow in Salem Shalters Cemetery.
