Marguerite E. Clay, 95, ( known by all as Margie), of Bernville, passed away on Friday evening in her residence.
Margie was married to the late Stanton H. Clay. They had been married for fifty eight years and seven months.
Born in State Hill, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. Haag and Beulah M. (Yost) Haag.
Margie was a lifelong member of St. Thomas Church in Bernville since 1946.
Margie graduated in 1940 from Robesonia High School.
Margie was employed for seventeen years at the Berkshire Knitting Mills.
Margie and her husband Stanton owned and operated Clay Vending in Bernville for seventeen years and also the Self Service Laundry in Bernville for twenty two years.
Surviving are two step-daughters, Barbara Breininger, widow of Lester Breininger of Wernersville and Charlotte Dreibelbis of Bernville.
There are five step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.
There are several nieces and nephews.
Margie is predeceased by two brothers, Harry and Paul Haag.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 8th at 11 am in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St, Bernville with Rev. Dr. Daniel Lute officiating.
A viewing will be held on Thursday morning from 10 am until the time of the service in the funeral home.
Interment will follow the service in St. Thomas Cemetery in Bernville.
