Nancy C Seaman

Nancy C. Seaman, 84, passed away on April 23, 2025, at the Mifflin Center in Shillington, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 28, 1940, Nancy was a cherished mother and grandmother as well as a beloved community member and a dedicated professional throughout her life.

Nancy graduated from Reading High School in 1958 and went on to have a commendable career. She started her professional career at American Casualty Company (CNA) as a secretary from 1958-1968 and then worked for C. H. Dill Travel until 1980. Starting in 1980, she became a Senior Nurse Aide in the OB/GYN department at the Reading Hospital, last working in the NICU unit caring for the patients and babies for 23 years. She also took on a second job with John M. Penta, ENT as a medical secretary. She was a hard working and dedicated employee. She retired in 2003 at 62.Her work was marked by a commitment to excellence and compassion, qualities that endeared her to colleagues and patients alike.

A life-long member of the former St. Luke's Lutheran Church, now known as Renewed Spirit Church, in Reading, Nancy was deeply invested in her faith and community. Her participation in the church was not only a source of personal strength, but also an avenue through which she contributed to the lives of those around her. One of her greatest joys was singing in the choir.

Nancy was also a member of ELCA, and the Fraternal Order of Police Women's Auxiliary President. She had a love for animals, especially dogs and enjoyed dog sitting for many years after her retirement.

Nancy is survived by her three daughters: Marisa J. LaLuna, wife of Dr. Louis LaLuna, Christina C. Young, wife of John W. Young, and Bonita J. Green, wife of Dr. Dorrell Green. She was a beloved grandmother and her grandchildren meant the world to her. Her legacy continues through her eight grandchildren; Dr. Bethany Franklin (Koch) wife of Felicia Franklin, Brooke Koch, wife of Jeff Beebe, Giovanni Laluna, Madison Young, Aidan Young, Jordan Green, Jada Green, and Jasmine Green and one great granddaughter,Jocelyn Beebe, who were a source of immense pride and joy in her life. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Wloczewski, wife of the late Ronald Wloczewski.

Nancy was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry D. Seaman, who passed away on September 1, 2003; her brother, Charles Scheifele, and her parents, Charles E. and Helen M. (Kutz) Manderbach.

In honor of Nancy C. Seaman's life, a Celebration of Life will be held on May 3, 2025, at Renewed Spirit Church, located at 449 N. 9th Street, Reading, PA, starting at 9:00 AM. This will be followed by a Funeral Service on the same day at 11:00 AM.

Burial will take place in Laureldale Cemetery.

Nancy's warm spirit and loving nature will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a beacon of kindness and brought joy to everyone she encountered. She was deeply loved and cherished by her family and will be held in their hearts forever.
