Richard K Kline

December 17, 1937 — June 9, 2026

Richard K. Kline, a respected and devoted man, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026, at Reading Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 17, 1937, Richard lived a life marked by dedication—to his career, his community, and his family.

Richard was a proud United States Army veteran, honoring his country with unwavering commitment. Following his military service, he embarked on a distinguished career in the construction industry. He initially worked for George Snyder and later for East Penn, ultimately serving as a Brick Layer Supervisor for an impressive eighteen years before retiring in 2002. His expertise and leadership earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and peers alike.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Richard was deeply involved in his community and various organizations. He was a life member of the Alsace and Lower Alsace Fire Company and held memberships with Rockland Rod & Gun, Kutztown Rod & Gun, the Gabelsville Athletic Association, and the Topton VFW Post #217. His commitment to serving others extended beyond membership, as he proudly served as a Bar Steward for the Oley Fire Company and, during his retirement years, bartended for the Elks Athletic Association. These affiliations reflected his passion for service, camaraderie, and the friendships he cultivated throughout his life.

Richard was an avid outdoorsman who found great joy in spending time in nature. Whether hunting in the woods, fishing on a quiet stream, or sharing stories with friends after a day outdoors, he cherished every opportunity to enjoy the sports he loved. His passion for hunting and fishing was a lifelong pursuit that brought him relaxation, adventure, and countless treasured memories with family and friends.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Karen L. Benne and her domestic partner, Troy Conrad; his grandchildren, Joey N. Leutze and her husband, Egon, Jonah Kline, and Shawn Haag; his great-grandchildren, Gunnar Leutze, Carlee Leutze, and Emerson Leutze; as well as his great-great-grandson, Emmett Leutze. Their presence stands as a testament to the lasting legacy of love and guidance he imparted to generations.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of forty-four years, Pearl E. (Nittinger) Kline, who passed away on October 18, 2010; his parents, Howard C. and Sally H. (Barlet) Kline; his son, Troy R. Kline; and his siblings, Donald H. Kline, husband of the late Janice, and Delores J. Swavely, wife of the late Donald.
