Richard E. Miller

September 25, 1938 — November 18, 2015

Richard E. Miller, 77, of Temple, passed away Wednesday, November 18th in his residence.

Richard was married to the late Betty A. Miller who passed away September 21, 2003.

Born in Hamburg, he was the son of the late Lester and Emma (Berger) Miller.

Richard was a 1956 graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School and a graduate of Albright College.

Richard was a Estimator for Dana Corporation for many years. He also had a career in real estate.

Richard served in the U. S. Navy from 1956 until 1962.

Richard enjoyed wood crafting, golfing, bird watching, and keeping himself informed of the politics in our country, voting as often as he could. He was a avid fan of college football, he enjoyed watching baseball, and especially a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Surviving are his children, Leroy P. Schaeffer of Temple, James P. Schaeffer, Jr., husband of Sherry of Womelsdorf, Bruce A. Schaeffer of Fleetwood, Sue J., wife of Barry Boyer of Port Orange, FL, Cindy L., wife of David Kerr of Fleetwood, and Karen S., wife of Clay Zweizig of Reading.

There are twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Also, a sister Carol Fegley of Sinking Spring and a brother Arlan Miller of Lancaster.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 23rd at 10:30 am in the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple. A viewing will be held on Monday morning from 10 until 10:30 am in the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Laureldale Cemetery where military honors will be performed by the Ray A. Master Post 217 American Legion, Topton.
