Richard D. Reigel, 85, passed away February 16th at Keystone Villa at Fleetwood.
Richard was born February 7, 1933, the son of Raymond N.
and Bertha (Eshenour) Reigel.
Along with his siblings, he attended McGillstown One Room School in Lebanon County.
He was a graduate of Jonestown High School.
He began his lifelong business career by purchasing the Myerstown Twin Kiss. He then began a career in the insurance business, owning and operating The Erie Insurance Agency in Palmyra.
Ultimately, he became the owner and operator of the Lebanon Valley Golf Course in Myerstown until his retirement in 1999.
He was a fifty year member of Williamson Lodge, F&AM, No. 307, Womelsdorf.
He also was a member of the AASR of Reading, the Rajah Shrine, and a past Grand Tall Cedar.
He is survived by a daughter, Barbara Fetzer, wife of Dr. Arthur Fetzer of Bethlehem and grandchildren, Jason, Ashley, and Tracy and great grandsons: Luke and Max.
He is also survived by a daughter, Sherrie Burkhart, wife of Michael Burkhart of Myerstown and grandchildren, Benjamin and Olivia.
He is survived by his siblings, Mary Jane Eaken, wife of Roderick Eaken of Bernville, Janet M. Yingst, wife of Robert Yingst of Jonestown, and Lloyd Reigel, widower of Grace Reigel of Annville.
He is predeceased by a sister, Mabel Reigel.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 22nd at 11 am in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N, Main St., Bernville.
Officiating the funeral service will be Rev. Joel Jackson of St. Thomas Church in Bernville and Rev. Lawrence Richard of Rocherty United Methodist Church of Lebanon.
At 11 am Williamson Lodge F&AM, No. 307, Womelsdorf will perform services.
A viewing will be held on Thursday morning from 10 am until the time of the service in the funeral home.
Interment will follow the service in St. Thomas Cemetery in Bernville.
