In the early morning hours of Thursday, October 2, 2025, Heaven gained an angel as Rosemary A. Koch left this Earth, surrounded by family.
She was born on May 23, 1948, to James Seifrit Sr and Dorothy A. (Mease) Seifrit.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Ronald M Koch Sr, and her three children, Ronald M Koch Jr, Robert A Koch Sr and his wife Estrellita, and Christina M Koch and her life partner Zachary L Jones. She was sadly left behind her grandchildren, Amanda M Showers, Rebecca M Dunlap, Nicholas M Pacheco, James E Mahoney, and Davis J Mahoney. And her great-grandchildren, Julian, Kassidy, Karson, Maddox, Addison, Parker, Mia, and the twins, Jayceon and Josiah. Her brothers, James M Seifrit Jr and Robert A. Seifrit, and his wife Jodi. Her best friend of almost 50 years, Mary Jane Moyer, wife of James. And her fur babies, Tootsie and Ginger, whom she loved very much.
She was predeceased by her parents, James and Dorothy Seifrit, her grandson, Robert A Koch Jr, and her sister, Janice Altrichter, wife of David.
She was known to EVERYONE as Rosie, except to her husband, who called her Toots or Hon, her children, who called her mom, and her grand and great grandchildren, who called her Nanny.
Her passions in life were her family, being a nurse, and being in recovery.
She enjoyed spending time with her family. Whether it was playing cards, playing games, or going out to eat, being with them brought her great joy.
Rosie retired from the VA as an LPN, but her service to others didn’t stop there. She always had an ear to listen, a shoulder to lean on, and a hand to lend to anyone, at any time, regardless of any situation.
Rosie devoted time to her sobriety regularly and was active in AA and Al-Anon for 37 years. She is and will continue to be an inspiration to those around her to take it one day at a time.
Rosie enjoyed traveling, going to Atlantic City or Las Vegas to play the slots, or visiting friends in South Carolina and Maine. She loved the beach and tending to her plants and flowers. She enjoyed being active and surrounded by her friends and family.
She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held at Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main Street, Bernville, on October 11, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM. Friends and family are welcome to gather to celebrate the life of Rosemary A. Koch, who will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Rosie's name may be sent to Strausstown AA, 87 Main Street, Strausstown, PA 19559.
