Ruth F. Deysher

Ruth F. (Balthaser) Deysher, 95, of Muhlenberg Township, Pennsylvania, died Friday, March 27, 2026. She was a resident of The Highlands at Wyomissing.

She was predeceased by her husband of forty-five years, David B. Deysher.

Ruth was born in Reading, Pennsylvania, on October 23, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Herbert and Mary (Keener) Balthaser.

Surviving is a son, Kirk N., husband of Lucia Deysher, of Blandon, Pennsylvania; and two daughters: Melanie M., wife of Matthew J. Horrigan, of Montclair, New Jersey; and Susan M., wife of Douglas E. Cohen, of Concord, Massachusetts. Ruth had seven grandchildren: Alex, Karen, Ben, Luke, Peter, Sam, and Hannah, and two great-grandchildren, Allison and Jack. She is also survived by a brother, Eugene Balthaser, of Greenland, NH; a brother, Donald Balthaser, predeceased her.

Ruth was a caring mother, grandmother and friend. She had a reputation as a great cook and enjoyed gathering family and friends around her table for birthdays and other special occasions. She enjoyed walking, playing golf, reading, and watching the Philadelphia Eagles football games on television. For many years, she was a secretary at Western Electric, where she made lifelong friends and also met David.
