Sandra A. Weidman, born on December 22, 1945, in West Reading, Pennsylvania, passed away surrounded by her loving family on April 23, 2025, at The Highlands. She was a dedicated educator who devoted her life to teaching and making a difference in the lives of her students. With a passion for education, Sandra worked as an Elementary School Teacher for 4 1/2 years in the Reading School District before spending 25 impactful years in the Tulpehocken School District. She concluded her distinguished career in education as an Instructional Support Teacher (IST), where her commitment to helping struggling students shined brightly.
Sandra was a proud graduate of Muhlenberg High School in 1963. She furthered her education by earning a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Kutztown University in 1967, followed by a Master's Degree in Education from the same institution in 1970. Her academic achievements were a testament to her dedication to the field of education.
In addition to her professional life, Sandra was deeply involved in her community and church. She was a cherished member of St. Thomas Church for many years and joined Hopewell Community Church, where she found not only spiritual support but also a sense of belonging. Her love for teaching extended beyond the classroom as she was actively engaged with organizations such as PSERS and Young at Hearts, reflecting her commitment to her community and to enriching the lives of others.
Sandra is survived by her children, Linda J. Hatfield, wife of David M., and Steven C. Weidman. She was a proud grandmother to Tyler Blatt and Ashley Blatt, and a great-grandmother to Tucker and Memphis. Her close-knit family was a source of great joy in her life. Additionally, her brother Barry J. Manwiller survives her.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Leslie P. Weidman, with whom she shared 43 years of marriage. Also preceding her in death are her parents, Richard F. and Mildred E. (Kerns) Manwiller, and her brothers, R. Bruce Manwiller and Brian W. Manwiller.
In honor of Sandra's life, there will be a visitation on April 29, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM and continuing until the celebration of life at 11:00 AM, at Hopewell Community Church, located at 1130 Commerce Dr., Pottstown, PA 19464. Her family and friends will gather to celebrate her remarkable life, her commitments, and the deep love she shared with all who knew her.
Sandra A. Weidman will be remembered not only for her contributions to education but also for her unwavering love for her family and her passion for helping others. She leaves behind a legacy of inspiration, kindness, and dedication that will not be forgotten.
