Sharon Ann Benner Moyer, of Bernville, PA and formerly of Sedalia, Missouri, peacefully departed this life on Saturday, March 22, 2026, at 10:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Penn State Medical Center in Reading, Pennsylvania. She was 78 years old.
Born on August 29, 1947 in Sellersville, PA Sharon was the daughter of Edwin C. and Helen A. (Alderfer) Benner. She graduated from North Penn High School and went on to live a life marked by faith, compassion, hospitality, and service to others. On October 23, 1971, Sharon married the love of her life, Richard Moyer. Together they built a home centered on faith and family. Richard preceded her in death on April 1, 2024.
Sharon began her working career as a secretary for Keller’s Butter. She later dedicated many years to caring for others as an in-home caregiver with Family Care Givers Elder Care. Alongside her husband, she also opened her heart and home through Delta Agency, providing foster care for 22 years and positively impacting the lives of countless children. A devoted volunteer, Sharon generously gave her time to the Otterville Food Bank and the Show-Me Christian Youth Home. Her life was a testimony to Christian service, always seeking opportunities to help those in need. Sharon was blessed to share fellowship with many church families throughout her life, including Lansdale Mennonite Church, Blandon Mennonite Fellowship, Oley Valley Mennonite Church, and Cornerstone Christian Church in Tipton, Missouri. Her steadfast faith in Jesus Christ guided her daily life and inspired all who knew her.
She found great joy in arts and crafts, especially card making and candle making. She also loved cooking and baking for family and friends. Sharon’s warm hospitality, kind spirit, generous heart, and unwavering faith left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She is survived by her children: Jamie, Joshua, Jaquill Moyer. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Conner, Roanna, Oliver, Nella, and Tanner Moyer. Sharon is additionally survived by her brothers , Jimmy Benner and Alan Benner, her sister-in-law Doris Kamees and husband Sam Kamees; her nephew Andrew; her niece Jenna; Kamees. Above all else, Sharon treasured her family and her relationship with her Savior.
Sharon’s final moments were spent surrounded by her loving family, a testament to the strong bonds she nurtured through the years. Her faith and commitment to her community were celebrated at the Oley Valley Mennonite Church, 1571 Memorial Highway, Oley, PA, where a visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on June 23, 2026. This will be followed by a funeral service from 11:00 a.m., allowing all who knew her to pay their respects and honor and her memory.
After the service, everyone is invited to share a meal and fellowship and also encouraged to share stories of Sharon with the family
Her life was defined by kindness, service, hospitality, and a deep devotion to Jesus Christ. While her presence will be greatly missed, her family rejoices in the assurance that she is now at peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
