Shirley R. (McCarty) Fritz-Faust

Shirley R. (McCarty) Fritz-Faust, 89, of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away on Wednesday, January 2, while a guest of the Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the widow of David A. Fritz who died on July 30, 2005, and of Fred L. Faust who died on November 15, 2018.

Born in Reading, Shirley was the daughter of the late William and Kathryn (Hacker) McCarty.

Shirley was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Kutztown. A devoted mother, Shirley was a full-time homemaker.

Shirley is survived by her daughters Louise A. (Fritz) Hoover of Kutztown, April H. wife of Edward Rakowiecki of Kutztown, and Marcia M. wife of Christopher Dougherty of Coplay. In addition, Shirley is survived by her sisters Bessie wife of Frances Litizenberger of Reading and Jane Gavrick of Reading; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one step son.

Shirley is predeceased by her grandson Ross Hoover and by her brother Jack McCarty.

A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., 4914 Kutztown Road, Temple, PA 19560, with Rev. Christopher deForest officiating.

Interment will be private at the convenience of her family at Leesport Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her first husband, David.
