Shirley M. Miller

Shirley M. (Schlappich) Miller, 82, of Bernville, Pa passed away at home on Friday, December 1, 2017. Shirley was the long-devoted wife of the late Carole Miller who died October 7, 2007. Born in Sinking Spring, Pa, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Pauline (Rhine) Schlappich.

Shirley was a graduate of Wilson High School, class of 1953 and a member of the Bernville Women's Club. She was a lifetime member of the St. Thomas Church of Bernville and actively participated in the Women's' Guild. Shirley worked at the Gloray Knitting Mills in Robesonia; she was a sewing machine operator and then an assistant payroll clerk. She also worked as a Teller and Bookkeeper at the Bernville Bank.

Shirley's two Dachshunds, Max and Greta, were her loving fur-babies. She had a special love for her furry companions.

Shirley is survived by her two sisters-in-law: Georgine Schlappich, widow of the late Larry Schlappich and Rosemary Schlappich, widow of the late Dennis Schlappich and two nephews: Darren Schlappich and David Schlappich. She is also survived by five loving in-laws: Phyllis Master, wife of Donald; Anna Belle Miller; Jay Miller, husband of Judy; Gail Stamm, wife of Jeffry; and Daniel Miller, husband of Barbara.

In addition to her two brothers, Shirley is predeceased by her niece Christine Schlappich.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 5th at 11:00 a.m. in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St., Bernville, Pa, 19506, the Reverend Dr. Daniel Lute will officiate the service. The family will receive friends and relatives just prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at St. Thomas Cemetery, Bernville.
