Shirley E. (Reppert) Wetzel

Shirley E. (Reppert) Wetzel, 87, of Bernville, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023, in the Reading Hospital.

Born on September 16, 1935, she was a daughter to the late George and Esther (Luckenbill) Reppert. Shirley was the wife of Donald R. Wetzel with whom she shared 71 years of marriage.

Shirley was a current member of St. Thomas Church in Bernville, where she has attended her entire life. She was a former member and past President of Young at Heart. Shirley was also a past member of the Society of Farm Women of Pennsylvania. Shirley was a doting grandmother; her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Donald, Shirley is survived by her daughter, Louise Wolf, wife of Daniel F. “Fritz” Wolf. Also, surviving are grandchildren, Carla L. Kessler and Daniel F. Wolf, Jr.; Great grandchildren, Makayla and Emily Rioux, and one brother, George Reppert, Jr., husband of Joan, along with several nieces and nephews.

Shirley was predeceased by two siblings, Vernon Reppert, husband of the late Sara Reppert, and Irene Cocks, wife of the late Franklin Cocks.

A viewing will be held on Monday, February 20, 2023, from 9:30 am – 11:00 am with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 am in St. Thomas Church, 536 N. Main Street, Bernville.

A burial will be held privately at a later date in Pleasant View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Shirley’s name may be made to St. Thomas Church, 536 N. Main Street, Bernville, PA 19506.
