Stephanie Kelly Heffner

Stephanie Kelly Heffner, 65, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by loved ones, on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. Born in Reading, PA on July 26, 1952, Stephanie was the daughter of Martha Kelly and George Kelly. Stephanie will be fondly remembered by her husband, Daniel Heffner; her daughter and son-in-law Katie Heffner CesAC. and Wilkins CesAC.; as well as by her son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Lynsey Heffner. Stephanie will be sorely missed by her beloved dog, Sam, and the many rescue cats to whom she passionately devoted her energy. Additionally, she is survived by her sister Adrienne Kelly, her companion William Kochan, and nephew Nathaniel Kelly; her sister and brother-in-law Kathleen and Donald Karpinecz and nephew and fiancAC. Drew Karpinecz and Tai; and her sister Jennifer Kelly and niece Brianna Kelly. She is predeceased by her sister Patricia Kelly. Stephanie's fun-loving nature will be missed among her dear friends, The Loofah Ladies as well as Tracy Stoudt. Stephanie was a 1970 graduate of Hamburg High School and a 1974 graduate of Kutztown University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. Stephanie dedicated her life to motherhood and never ceased to advise and encourage her children and their spouses. Stephanie exhibited enthusiasm and creativity when it came to gardening, homemaking, photography, decorating, and all matters of aesthetics; she had a flair for fun and was well-known for her Halloween decorations; she was exceedingly compassionate toward animals because she adored their companionship and sympathized with their innocence. Stephanie was actively involved in local trap-and-release organizations in the community that aim to capture and neuter feral cats to help control the population and promote responsible pet ownership. A celebration of life will be held and announced at a later date.
