Timothy J. Kohl

Timothy J. Kohl, 55, of Exeter Township, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital of Philadelphia, where he had been a patient for several weeks. He was surrounded by his loving wife, family and friends.
Born in Reading and a graduate of Wilson High School, he was the son of Brenda M. (Kirkhoff) and Gary J. Kohl. He was the husband of Joanne (Giardiello) Patti, the love of his life. Tim is also survived by one son, Brian Kohl and wife Kristen; three daughters: Jill Kohl, Janine (Patti) Beidler and husband Steve, and Jamie (Patti) Kersikoski and husband Robert; two sisters: Lisa Beam and Kelly Fisher; brother-in-law John Giardiello and wife Donna; five grandchildren: Griffin, Ian, Allison, Carter and Cameron; nieces and nephews; and countless friends.
Tim is predeceased by his grandparents, Irvin and Isabel Kirkhoff.
Tim was employed at Carpenter Technology for 28 years, last working in March of this year. He was a diehard dirt bike rider and a long time member of RORR. He most enjoyed his time spent with family and friends, including trips to the beach, "hunting" camp, monthly poker games, Friday nights defending the "belt" at the Fellowship club, and playing golf. He loved fantasy football with guys, and cheering for the Steelers and the Eagles. Tim loved to cook and bake, and his recipes were always the highlight of family events and parties.
Tim made friends wherever he went and had a heart of gold. He loved life, celebrating life, having a good time, and spending every moment he could with family and friends. Tim loved being a Pop-Pop, and his grandchildren adored him and every second they spent with him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, including his little buddy, China.
Family and friends may attend a visitation with the family on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 9 am until 11 am in the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 am on Saturday in the funeral home.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, P.O. Box 69, Mohnton, PA 19540 and the Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 N. 11th St., Reading, PA 19604.
