Wanda M. Heydt, 90, formerly of Leesport, passed away Saturday evening in Country Meadows of Wyomissing.
Wanda was married to the late Douglas N. Heydt who passed away January 8, 1999. Wanda and Douglas were childhood sweethearts and were married for fifty years when Douglas passed away.
Born in Molltown, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Ahrens and Eva (Adam) Ahrens.
Wanda was employed by the former Diener Knitting/Dawson Industries for thirty two years retiring in 1989.
Wanda was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Leesport.
Wanda enjoyed traveling, attending dinner theaters, traveling to the casinos, volunteering, playing cards, and all the activities at Country Meadows.
The family would like to thank the staff of Country Meadows for the exceptional care and love they provided for Wanda.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Marlene L. (Heydt) Bender of Muhlenberg Park and several nieces and nephews.
Wanda is predeceased by three siblings, Kathryn (Ahrens) Snyder, and Robert and Mark Ahrens.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, May 18th at 10 am in the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple.
A viewing will take place on Friday from 9 am until the time of service in the funeral home.
Interment will follow the service in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
