William P. Adam, 90, of Reading, PA, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026.
Born on November 15, 1935, William was the beloved husband of Marie (Marbarger) Adam, with whom he shared 64 very happy years of marriage. He was a wonderful husband who loved and cherished his wife and family throughout their life together.
William was the son of the late Paul R. Adam and Ella M. (Bissey) Adam. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Anna Hoover and Claire Zuchowski. He is survived by his sister, Nancy Henn, wife of Robert Henn, and is also survived and lovingly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
William proudly served for six years in the Air National Guard with the 168th CAM Squadron. Following his military service, he worked as a mechanic at Tray-Pak, where he remained until his retirement in 1997. Retirement did not keep William from doing what he loved. He went on to work a couple of days a week at Luppold Hardware, where he was well-loved by the customers. William loved talking to people and truly enjoyed his work and the friendships he made there.
A lifelong car enthusiast, William was a former president of the Bandit Car Club in Laureldale, PA. He loved his cars and enjoyed all of his “toys,” including cars, motorcycles, and snowmobiles. There was very little William could not fix. He was incredibly handy and could always be counted on to figure out how to make something work.
William also loved camping and traveling with Marie in their travel trailer. Some of their favorite adventures were trips to Nova Scotia and Key West. Above all, William enjoyed spending time with people, sharing stories, working with his hands, and making the most of life with the people he loved.
William will be deeply missed by his wife, family, friends, former co-workers, and the many people whose lives he touched throughout his 90 years.
