William “Bill” E. Stickler, 70, of Jefferson Twp., passed away Saturday, April 13th in Penn State, St. Joseph Hospital.
Bill was married for forty- five years to Eleanor H. (Huey) Stickler.
Additional survivors include two children, William “Bill” C. Stickler, husband of Nicole S. Stickler of Bernville and Ronaele E. Wengert, wife of Alan D. Wengert of Pine Grove.
There are three grandchildren, Sierra and Caleb Wengert and Liam Stickler.
Bill is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Leon Huey and wife Paula and William Huey and wife Brenda. He is predeceased by his brother-in-law, Robert Huey and survived by his sister-in-law Dorthea Huey.
Bill is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Bill served in the U.S. Army.
From 1970 until 1980 Bill was an auto mechanic at Huey’s Garage in Jefferson Twp., working alongside his father-in-law Leon Huey. From 1980 to the present time Bill operated the same garage, Stickler’s Garage, at the same location.
Bill was a member of St. Thomas Church in Bernville.
He was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. In earlier years he coached little league baseball at Umbenhauer Park.
Bill was a volunteer at Indiantown Gap in the Wildlife Biology Department.
A funeral service will be held in St. Thomas Church, 536 N. Main St., Bernville on Friday, April 19th at 2 pm with Reverend Schaun Myers officiating.
A viewing will be held on Friday in St. Thomas Church from 12:30 pm until 2 pm.
Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery in Bernville.
The Kirkhoff Funeral Home in Bernville is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
