C. Eleanor (Moyer) Solomon

C. Eleanor (Moyer) Solomon, 96,  of Blandon, passed in the Keystone Villa of Fleetwood on Monday, November 19th.

Born in Blandon July 10, 1922, Eleanor was a daughter of Harry and Mary Moyer. She was married to her late husband Ernest Solomon for 67 years whom she met at Kutztown State College (now Kutztown University) on a blind date in 1943.

Eleanor was a member of St. John’s Gernant’s UCC Church in Leesport. Eleanor was a teacher at Ontelanee (Schuylkill) School district as well as Oley School district and Kutztown School district for 21 years.

She enjoyed gardening in her beloved garden and was a member of senior citizens and Garden Club at Maidencreek Church in Blandon. She delivered Meals on Wheels with her husband Ernie.

Eleanor is survived by three children; daughter Adele M. Richardson of Valley view; son, Phillip A. Solomon, husband of Katharine (Kitty) Solomon, of Mertztown; and daughter, Ina M. Siegel, wife of Dean Siegel, of Breinigsville.

She is also survived by five grandchildren, Jennifer L. Richardson, Dana M. Zwoyer, Sean R. Siegel, Amee Lynn Siegel, and Todd B. Siegel.

Also, there are three great grandchildren, Bobbie Rae Zwoyer and Courtney M. and Devin D. Dargis.

Eleanor was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Dunkelberger, widow of Paul Dunkelberger.

The funeral service will take place on Friday, November 23, 2018 at 10:30 AM in the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple PA 19560. Reverend Frances Merkel will officiate. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday in the funeral home.

Interment will immediately follow the funeral service in St. John’s Gernants Church Cemetery, Leesport, PA.
