Gertrude R. (Stahl) Greenawalt

Gertrude R. Greenawalt, 93, of Country Meadows Retirement Community of Wyomissing,  passed away Monday, June 28th in her residence.

Born in Edingen, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Eugen and Rosa (Wentzel) Stahl.

She was married to the late Carl W. Greenawalt who passed away May 18, 2016.

Gertrude and Carl were married for sixty nine years.

She was a former member of Christ Church, UCC in Temple and the Muhlenberg Women’s Club.

She was formerly employed by Columbian Cutlery in Reading and Bachman Pretzels in Hyde Park.

Gertrude was predeceased by a son, James L. Greenawalt and survived by his wife Diane Greenawalt of Illinois.

She is survived by a daughter, Joanne R. (Greenawalt) Whary and husband Charles Whary of Pennsylvania.

Also, there is a sister Rosa Betenstadt of Germany.

She is predeceased by a sister, Hilda Koch and a brother, Joseph Stahl.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family with burial in Laureldale Cemetery.

The Milkins Trymbiski Funeral Home in Temple is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
