Harold E. Blatt

Harold E. "Checky” Blatt, 82, of Blandon, passed away on January 10, 2022 at Penn State Health St. Joseph's Hospital.

Born on March 17, 1939, he was a son to the late Evan D. and Leah (Behney) Blatt. Harold was the wife of Dorothy M. (Fick) Blatt with whom he shared 57 years of marriage at the time of his passing.

Harold worked for Quaker Maid Kitchens for 31 years until they closed where he then was employed by RTC Direct Mailing in Shoemakersville. Harold was an avid hunter who was very protective over his guns. He enjoyed attending hunting camp, country music concerts and car shows in his free time and loved watching the Philadelphia Phillies and reading. Above all, Harold was a devoted grandfather cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Dorothy, Harold is survived by his children, Lori A. Brenner, wife of Donald Brenner, Jr. and Michael E. Blatt, husband of Jodi Blatt. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Christopher Brenner, Jeremy Brenner, Steven Brenner and Evan Blatt; Four great-grandchildren, Elliette, Lenora and Cassidy Yeager-Brenner and Jack Brenner; Brother, Samuel Blatt, sister, Helen Wenrich and his beloved cat, Turbo.

He was preceded in death by seven siblings, Mabel, Darius, Florence, John, Minerva, Lucy and Mary.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022, from 9:00 am - 11:00 am with a service beginning at 11:00 am at the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main Street, Bernville.

Burial will take place immediately following the service in Berks County Memorial Gardens.
