Helen D. (Guidotti) Filippini

Helen D. (Guidotti) Filippini, age 87, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away on July 18, 2022.  She was the widow of the late Emidio (Meme) Filippini who passed away Oct. 23, 2007.  Born in Temple, PA, on Feb. 7, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Emidio and Felicia (Valeriano) Guidotti.

Helen worked for Temple Sportswear as a seamstress and for Western Electric as a quality assurance technician.  Later she served as a bookkeeper for the family mushroom farming operations.  She was most proud of being a devoted wife to her husband Meme for 49 years, allowing him to focus on his mushroom and golf course businesses and raising her five children and caring for her grandchildren.

Helen was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.  She was a home chef and baker who made Italian and Pennsylvania Dutch cuisine from scratch.   She loved holidays and making elaborate meals for her large family.

She is survived by her children, Pamela, wife of Keith Carl, Bern Township; Maria, wife of Kurt Frederick, St Marys, Georgia; Emidio Filippini, husband of Michele, Sun City, Florida; James Filippini, husband of Margot, Wake Forest, North Carolina; Joseph Filippini, husband of Meredith, Ruscombmanor Twp.; 15 grandchildren – Andrew and Ryan Carl, Shannon O’Donnell, Adam and Ethan Frederick, Juliana Bertocci, Christina, Vincent, Felicia, Olivia and Jackson Filippini, Morgan Poncho, Ryan McMahon, Alyna and Nikolai Cook;  Eight great grandchildren: Keira, Scarlett, Nolan, Cooper and Sophie Carl; Colton, Grant and Elyse O’Donnell; Sister, Amelia (Guidotti) Tothero of Bern Twp. and brother, Raymond Guidotto, husband of Mary, of Riverview Park.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Vincent and Pietro Guidotti and sister, Grace (Guidotti) Becker.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Entombment will take place in Gethsemane Cemetery.
