Irene S. (Seaman) Birkenbine, 93, of Upper Tulpehocken Township passed away on March 28, 2021 after a short stay in Manor Care Sinking Spring.
She was the loving wife of the late Carl F. Birkenbine, until the time of his passing on December 19, 1982.
Born on November 27, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John and E. Naomi (Sheidy) Seaman.
She was employed as a cafeteria cook for twenty-five years at the former Strausstown Elementary School in the Hamburg School District, where she retired at the age of eighty. Irene was a very active member of the Strausstown Volunteer Fire Company and a member of Zion Blue Mountain UCC in Strausstown.
Irene is survived by her loving children; Gail S. wife of Steven Reber of Bethel and Lori K. Swift of Auburn. Also surviving are grandchildren; Ryan husband of Roxanne Reber, Jessica Reber and Desiree Swift and great grandchildren; Joel Reber, Kieran Reber, Dakota Reber, Dominic Reber and Addelyn Swift. In addition to her husband and her parents, she is predeceased by her siblings; Helen Delcamp, Luella Billman, and Mark, Stanley, Ray and John Jr. Seaman.
Services will be held private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held in Strausstown Cemetery. Kirkhoff Funeral Home in Bernville is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Irene’s memory to the Strausstown Volunteer Fire Company, 50 East Ave, Strausstown, PA 19559.
