James R. Bohn, 84, of Muhlenberg Park, passed away Monday, July 25th in Suburban Woods Health and Rehabilitation Center in Norristown.
Jimmy was the husband of Phyllis M. (Zelano) Bohn whom he married on October 5, 1963. Jimmy and Phyllis would be married fifty-nine years this October.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Charles F. Bohn, Sr. and Lillian M. (Schweitzer) Bohn.
Jimmy honorably and faithfully served our country as a member of the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Jimmy received a Good Conduct Medal and decorated for his expertise as a Rifle Marksman.
He graduated from Industrial Management Institute in 1962 and was employed for thirty years as a Maintenance Electrical Engineer for Western Electric in Reading.
Jimmy was a lifelong faithful parishioner of Holy Guardian Roman Catholic Church in Hyde Park.
In addition to his loving wife, Phyllis, Jimmy is survived by his beloved sisters, Irene N. Dentzer and Sadie L. West.
Jimmy is predeceased by his siblings, Charles F. Jr., Donald J., John E., Willard D., Robert W., Stanley J. Bohn and Dorothy M. Hartenstine and Charlotte E. Eyrich.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 1st at 10 am in Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, 3121 Kutztown Rd., (Hyde Park) Reading, PA 19605 with Reverend Allen J. Hoffa as Celebrant.
A viewing will be held in Holy Guardian Angels RCC in the church vestibule from 9 am until 10 am.
Entombment will follow the Mass in Gethsemane Cemetery, Chapel of Resurrection Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Holy Guardian Angels RCC in Jimmy’s memory.
