Nancy J. (Kane) Crim

Myerstown

Nancy J. Crim, 79, passed into her Heavenly home on September 13, 2022, in her home. She was a retired teacher with the Reading School District (2003) and the wife of the late C. Edward Crim, a long-time teacher and coach at Tulpehocken High

School. Born on September 25, 1942, in Upper Darby, PA and raised in Havertown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Beatrice (Zarr) Kane and the late Francis J. Kane.

Nancy was a graduate of Haverford High School; Bloomsburg University with a B.S. in

Elementary Education; and Kutztown University with a M.S. in Education. She first taught in the Candlebrook Elementary School, Upper Merion School District; then one year in the Sinking Spring Elementary School, Wilson School District; five years in the Penn-Bernville Elementary School, Tulpehocken School District; and after staying home with her two young children, she returned to teaching with Reading School District retiring in 2003. During her years of teaching, she had been a member of PSEA and NEA. In addition to teaching, Mrs. Crim had worked as a realtor for a few years with Blue Mountain Realty in Bernville and also as a receptionist for Reading Oral Surgery in Shillington, Berks County. Mrs. Crim was a long-time member of St. Thomas Church, Bernville, where she taught in the adult Sunday School program. She was previously a director for two years of the summer Bible School program and also served as a deacon for two years on the consistory. Mrs. Crim moved to Myerstown, PA in the year 2015 where she became a member of Zion United Methodist Church. She served as a group leader in the summer. Bible School program for a few years. She was also a substitute small group leader with the On Fire Release Program in Myerstown. Mrs. Crim was an avid reader and she started a book club in the year 2011. This group shared a love of reading and spent some fun times reviewing books in home meetings held once a month through the years. Most recently, Nancy developed a love of Bocce Ball and enjoyed playing with her friends.

Surviving is a son, Dr. Ryan C. Crim and his wife, Dr. Laura Wilson Crim of Carlisle, PA and a daughter, Dr. Alisa J. Muñiz Crim and her husband, Dr. Juan Carlos G. Muñiz Somoza of Miami, FL. There are seven grandchildren: Duncan, Delaney, and Darian Crim and Carlos, Eduardo, Eva Lucia, and Maximilian Muñiz Crim. These much-loved grandchildren were the light of her life and brought their Marme much joy.

A Visitation will Thursday evening, September 22nd, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main Street, Bernville. A Memorial Service will be held Friday September 23rd at 11:00 am in the Zion United Methodist Church, 22 E Main Ave, Myerstown, PA.
