Philip H. Yale, 85, of Jefferson Twp., passed away suddenly on Monday, November 14th in his residence.

Philip was married to Virginia L. (Bryan) Yale.

Born in Wellsboro, he was the son of the late Keith C. Yale and Eve P. (Mertsock) Yale.

At the age of seventeen Philip joined the U. S. Army, serving in the 11th Airborne Division from 1955 until 1958 in Fort Campbell Kentucky. He then served in the U. S. Army in the 82nd Airborne Division in Ft. Bragg, NC from 1961 until 1963 serving during the Vietnam War. He received the Expert Infantry Badge and the Soldier of The Month Award.  Also, he was a member of the St. Michael Paratrooper Society at Fort Bragg. He belonged to the American Legion in Hamburg.

Philip was employed by Hoffman Industries as an electrician and later for Exide as a maintenance superintendent both for several years.

Philip retired from Maier’s Bakery in August 2000 as the lead electrician.

Philip attended Christ Evangelical Free Church in Bethel.

He loved to hunt and fish, he belonged to the Lebanon Valley Sportsmen Assoc. in Robesonia, and the Strausstown Rod and Gun Club.

Additional survivors include four children, Bryan Yale of Robesonia, Lisa Vickers of Melbourne, FL., Michele Tobias of Fleetwood, and Shelly Wails of Mohnton.

There is a step daughter, Tammy Kiebach, wife of David Kiebach of Bernville.

He is predeceased by a step son, Terry A. Naftzinger who passed away May 20, 2019.

He is survived by a sister, Elaine Antonovich, widow of Frank Antonovich and he is predeceased by a sister, Joan Cady.

He is also survived by ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.

The Kirkhoff Funeral Home in Bernville is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
