Richard H Hoffman, Sr

Richard H. Hoffman, Sr., 89, of Bernville passed away on April 29, 2023, in the Reading Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born on September 30, 1933, he was the son of Walter and Adalaide (Meyer) Hoffman. Richard was the husband of the late Dorothy Hoffman with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.

Richard graduated from Bernards High School in New Jersey and later acquired his associate's degree from the State University of New York at Farmingdale. Richard was a member of Saint Thomas Church in Bernville. He was a proud United States Army veteran. Richard was a dairy and chicken farmer for many years alongside his family. He was also a lifetime member of Bernville Grange, a former Penn Township supervisor, and the former Director of Centerport Milk Hauling Co-Op. Richard and his wife Dorothy were also long-time volunteers with Meals on Wheels.

Richard is survived by his children, Richard H. Hoffman, Jr., husband, of Tammy S., of Bernville, & Donna L. Zimmerman, wife of Drew, of Myerstown. Also, surviving are eight grandchildren, Richard Hoffman, husband of Amanda, Brandy Hartman, wife of Lucas, Megan Hoffman, wife of Kaelyn Weleski, Michael Hoffman, companion of Lindsay, Jennifer Best, wife of Brad, Kelly Perkins, wife of Ryan, Kyle Zimmerman, husband of Katie, and Cody Zimmerman, husband of Lauren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Friday, May 5, 2023, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm with Memorial Service starting at noon in Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St., Bernville.
Burial will take place in Berks County Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations, and Richard’s name may be made to St. Thomas Church, 536 N. Main St., Bernville PA, 19506.
