Suzanne R. Troutman, 65, of Bernville, PA, passed away December 31, 2020, at Tower Health-Reading Hospital after a 5-month courageous battle with leukemia.  She was predeceased by her loving husband, John Troup, in 2013.

Born in West Reading, PA, in 1955, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Ruth (Kurtz) Troutman.

Suzanne was a 1973 graduate of Tulpehocken High School.  She was employed for 12 years at The Nosegay Flower Shop in Bernville.   Suzanne was 1 of 14 people selected from a group of more than 70 applicants across the country to be part of a two-year professional gardener training program at Longwood Gardens near Kennett Square, PA, from April 1984 to March 1986.  Suzanne was last employed as a landscape designer with Stony Bridge Landscaping, Lebanon, PA, for many years retiring 2019.  She continued as a consultant for the floral selections of Stony Bridge Landscaping plantings as well as selecting the annuals used in the many hanging baskets and large sidewalk pots in the City of Lebanon and Lebanon Valley College.

She used her skills in designing and creative talents throughout her lifetime including the designing and decorating of her old farmhouse, assorted flowerbeds, organic garden plots, and the natural habitats in her yard.  Suzanne will be remembered for her kind heart, but mostly she’ll be treasured for her beautiful smile.

Surviving are two sisters: Carol Troutman of Wyomissing and Joan (Roger) Steffen of Cumru Township, and a brother P. Scott (Shelli) Walters of Lebanon.  Two nieces, Bridget (William) Brandt of Bernville, and Leslie (Marc) Hogue of Ligonier; plus, two great nieces, Rachel Kemmerling, Sinking Spring, and Jacqueline Kemmerling, Bernville.  Suzanne is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.  Suzanne will be greatly missed by her friends, Cheryl Guest, Michele Scanlon, and Gwen Alsedek; as well as her special cat, Oliver.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

You can honor her memory by planting flowers, feeding the birds, or making a contribution to an animal shelter of your choice.
